The Importance of Having a Good River Guide

Whether you are going fishing on the rivers of Wisconsin, riding the white waters in Colorado, or going rafting, you need to have a good river guide for your trip. This is not the time to get macho and think that you can handle it all yourself because lives are at stake – Yours!

A good river guide typically knows his area quite well and has been there for years. They aren’t newcomers to the area. Here are a few characteristics of a good river guide:

They are licensed in the state where they reside.
Safety is important in their boat.
If they are fisherman, can they show an excellent success rate?
If they are rafters, how many times have they taken trips down the river?
Do they accommodate for your needs, like life jackets, lunch, drinks.
Affordable rates. They aren’t in it to scam anybody with high rates.
Do they like what they are doing? They should be happy to be a river guide, as it is a coveted position by most 40 hour a week workers. It’s where vacations happen.

Check all their credentials when you select one on your next vacation.More info here: Rafting on the Yellowstone River – Gardiner, MT
